WordLens Privacy Policy

1. Scope and controller
This policy applies to the WordLens application provided by Xi'an Erchashu Information Technology Co., Ltd. and explains data handling for reading, AI, purchases, and feedback.
2. Local-only data
By default, imported books, reading history, vocabulary, dictionaries, settings, fonts, and local models stay in the app sandbox and are not uploaded to the WordLens feedback service.
3. Remote AI
When remote AI is enabled, text, instructions, and parameters needed for the request go to the provider endpoint selected and configured by the user. That provider processes data under its terms; WordLens does not silently substitute another endpoint.
4. Purchase processing
Apple StoreKit or Google Play processes transactions, accounts, and payment information. The app receives purchase status and caches the necessary entitlement result locally; WordLens does not receive complete payment-card details.
5. System file and media pickers
The app invokes system pickers only when the user explicitly imports a book, dictionary, font, model, or feedback screenshot. Feedback screenshots are converted to JPEG, metadata is removed, and size is limited before upload.
6. Feedback data
A submission includes a random installation ID, app and build version, platform, operating-system version, locale, feedback text, optional or required contact details, selected screenshots, consent version, and server time. Contact is optional for issue feedback and required for Contact us.
7. Alibaba Cloud and location
Alibaba Cloud Function Compute hosts the feedback API, Tablestore holds structured records, and a private OSS bucket holds screenshots. These resources are deployed in mainland China and are used only to receive, retrieve, reply to, and delete feedback.
8. Retention
Incomplete screenshot drafts are retained for no more than 24 hours. Submitted feedback is retained for no more than 12 months and then removed by a scheduled cleanup job unless law requires otherwise.
9. Access, deletion, and identity reset
My feedback uses random credentials created for this installation. You can delete a record and its details, contact information, reply, index, and screenshots. Resetting feedback identity makes old records inaccessible but does not automatically delete them.
10. Security and no tracking
Credentials use operating-system secure storage, and the service stores only a token digest. Feedback does not read hardware or advertising identifiers and includes no advertising, analytics, or cross-app tracking SDK. Access controls reduce risk but cannot guarantee absolute security.
11. Remote providers and transfers
If a user selects an AI endpoint in another jurisdiction, that provider may process requests there. Any cross-border processing depends on the selected endpoint and its policy.
12. Minors, changes, and contact
Minors should use the app with guardian guidance. Material changes update the version and revision date. Use Help & Feedback in the WordLens app, or email apple@steepless.net for privacy, data-rights, or deletion questions.
